Thinking about where you’ll live in Bloomington next year?
The first question about your living arrangements for next year is likely to be, “Should I move off campus or not?” Currently, we do not have housing availability for non-first-year students on campus for 2024-25. We recommend that you consider costs, lifestyle, proximity to classes, and transportation before making your decision.
Discuss the decision with your family and friends. Don’t be pressured into signing something you’re unsure about.
Before you commit to an off-campus property:
- Check out the property and landlord you’re looking at with the City of Bloomington’s Office of Housing and Neighborhood Development.
- Have a lease reviewed by Student Legal Services for free.
- Visit the IDS Housing Fair on Wednesday, February 21 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. in IMU Alumni Hall
Before you move into an off-campus property:
- Get renter’s insurance from IU’s partner GradGuard or an insurance company of your choosing.
- Schedule activation of your utilities.
